Michelle Jwanouskos
Paidea Parent

Paidea is the best thing that ever happened to us!  Our children have grown so much, and so have we as parents.

Parent Nights are incredible!!!  The boys can't wait for Parent Nights, and Bob and I find these sessions with Lynn so insightful.  Plus, it's been fun getting to know the other parents.

Not only do we learn about Paidea's philosophies and different techniques for handling a variety of situations, but learning what developmental stages our toddler and preschooler are going through and understanding how to deal with these changes has been invaluable.  It's like free therapy.

Parent Night solidifies why we have our children here and further deepens our love for Paidea, Lynn, and the wonderful staff.

What does it mean to be a Paide Parent?

Child Parent Teacher Director

I am supported in my role as a parent
Parent Night - First, a pot-luck dinner with families and staff, then I attend class with Lynn, while the children play together under teacher supervision.  Classes are much like ECFE classes and are offered at no additional cost.
Parenting Resources - I can meet with Lynn anytime to discuss parenting issues as well as check out a variety of printed resource materials.
Professional Referral - When my child's development could be augmented by outside professional resources, Lynn is available to assist in the referral process.
Kids Night Out - One Friday a month, Paidea provides a sitting service hosted by the teachers where my kids can play with their Paidea friends.

 I am connected to the
 Paidea community
I can participate in the monthly Parent Advisory Council where my input can directly influence decisions about school policy.
I have the opportunity to work with other Paidea parents, planning events and working on projects that recognize and support the school and staff.
I can meet and socialize with other Paidea parents at a variety of events:
Paidea Open House
Fall Progressive Dinner
Spring Gala and Auction
Parent Nights
Spring Clean-up Day
End of Year Picnic
Oakdale Kiddie Parade

 I am a necessary and
 welcome partner
My knowledge and input about my child is respected and welcomed.
I learn about my child's progress in many ways:
Day sheets
Journals
Conferences
Phone Calls
Email
Newsletter
Special meetings
I learn the behavior management strategies that teachers use so there can be consistency between home and school.
