The Paidea Difference

What does it mean to be a Paidea...

Child Parent Teacher Director

Hear what 'Best Selling' author/teacher
Mary Sheedy Kurcinka,
has to say about Paidea

What strikes me when I enter Paidea is the respect.  Children are treated respectfully and as a result are respectful of others including their peers.

At Paidea children demonstrate an amazing understanding of their own emotions and those of others.  You'll see them playing cooperatively for extended periods of time.  Conflict is minimal.  Peels of laughter, shouts of joy and the lively chatter of engaged and happy children fill the rooms.

When I'm writing my books, or preparing workshops I go to Paidea to observe and collect examples of "best teaching practices."   I always leave amazed by the quality of education and care the children receive.

If I were choosing child care for my children today, I would choose Paidea.

What Makes Paidea Unique?

Director's Role
Our owner is a very involved director with a background in parent education (masters degree in early childhood parenting education.)

She knows and works with all children, teachers and parents.

Parent Education Program
Once a month, families have dinner together with parents, children and teachers.  Then, teachers provide childcare while parents meet with Lynn for parenting class.  Classes are much like ECFE classes.  These evenings create a partnership between home and school.  There is no additional charge for these classes.

Community Among Parents
Families who choose Paidea often form strong relationships and continue their friendships many years after leaving Paidea.

E.Q. Skills are Actively Taught
Emotional Intelligence, as defined by Daniel Goleman in his book by the same title, matters more the I.Q. in terms of life success.  Research has proven the earlier these skills are taught, the bigger impact it has on personal development, relationships, schooling, and work.

Large outdoor play and nature area, and 2 indoor "muscle rooms."
Almost 2 acres of outdoor play space and indoor muscle rooms

Vacation Policy
Paidea allows families 2 weeks of vacation from September to June, and 6 weeks from June to September.
